![]() Mr. Barnett graduated from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey with a B.A. in Political Science, and subsequently attended classes at the Masters of Public Administration Program at Marist College. In 1996 he received his J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and a finalist in the National Appellate Advocacy Competition. He also received a distinguished academic achievement award and was awarded a financial scholarship for demonstrating excellent potential in the field of litigation. Just two years after law school, he served as Senior Assistant District Attorney in Dutchess County from 1998-2001, gaining a wealth of experience assigned to the Narcotics Bureau and prosecuting white collar crime. Prior to law school, he was exposed to another side of law working on the staff of former Minority Leader Clarence Rappleyea of the New York State Assembly. In addition to Mr. Barnett’s extensive experience in criminal law during which he has proven to be an extremely qualified and dedicated DWI defense attorney, his practice focuses on litigation in matters pertaining to matrimonial/family, corporate, construction, and municipal issues. He represents the Towns of Poughkeepsie, Lloyd, and Fishkill as legal counsel for Code Enforcement. Mr. Barnett remains actively involved in the legal community, serving as President of the Dutchess County Bar in 2005-2006, and is currently a board member for the Legal Services of the Hudson Valley. In addition, Mr. Barnett serves as an adjunct professor at Marist College in the area of Civil Litigation and Administrative Law. He is admitted to practice in the New York State Courts, Southern and Eastern Federal District Courts.
