![]() In addition to his active New York practice of civil litigation, municipal law, environmental law and tax certiorari, David D. Hagstrom currently provides services as general counsel to five Hudson Valley corporations. Mr. Hagstrom was the Town Attorney for the Town of Poughkeepsie from 1977 through 1987, the Town of Plattekill from 1996 through 1997 and the Town of Amenia from 1998 through 2001. He currently serves as special counsel to the Town of Poughkeepsie, for its Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals Rezoning and Master Plan and tax assessments. He has represented the Pleasant Valley Planning Board from 1987 to 2004. He has extensive experience in tax certiorari and represents the Towns of Poughkeepsie, Fishkill, LaGrange, Washington, and the City of Poughkeepsie, as well as the Pearl River and the Millbrook Central School Districts. He has represented the Towns of Ulster, Woodbury, Pawling, Shandaken, Goshen and Lloyd as special counsel on cases relative to tax exemptions, tax certiorari, labor law and zoning code enforcement. He was local trial counsel for Iroquois Gas for Dutchess County condemnations for its pipeline. He served on the Executive Committee of the General Practice Section of the New York State Bar Association and is a member of both the Municipal Lawyers and the Trial Lawyers Sections. He has extensive experience in the trial of civil cases and has lectured before the Association of Towns and the Appraisal Institute. A graduate of Oberlin College with an A.B. degree, he continued on to earn his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He is admitted to practice both in New York and Ohio, as well as the federal courts, the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Tax Court. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Frederick V. Folmer, United States District Court, M.D.Pa.
